Oregon State Education Licensing Requirements:

The Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission is the licensing agency for all educators in Oregon. A Transitional Teaching License is issued to an out-of-state candidate who has completed a teacher education program in another state or who holds a non-provisional license from another state. At the end of the license effective period, the teacher must meet the requirements of the Preliminary Teaching License.

Applications and payments may be made only through eLicensing (see https://apps.oregon.gov/TSPC/eLicense). The fees for out-of-state applicants are $190 for licensing and $55 for a fingerprinting/background check.

Please visit http://www.oregon.gov/TSPC for more information. The Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission may be contacted at 503.378.3586 or by email at [email protected]. It is highly recommended that you contact this office to confirm this information.

Please note that requirements are subject to change. You may find more licensing information for each state at https://www.ed.gov.

SRU Teacher Candidates MAY use their PA certifications to apply for comparable certifications in this state DEPENDING ON THIS STATE’S DEPT. OF ED’S EVALUATION AND POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL

REQUIREMENTS. See above.
