Applicants who have graduated from an accredited university (Slippery Rock University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education) with a bachelor’s degree or higher in education are eligible for licensure via the traditional route in Wyoming. Requirements for out-of-state applicants include completion of an approved Educator Preparation Program which includes student teaching and leads to an Institutional Recommendation for licensure, official transcripts, submission of WY Fingerprint Cards with a background check, knowledge of the US and Wyoming Constitutions, teacher testing requirements (see http://wyomingptsb.com/licensure/testing-requirements/), and submission of a complete application packet (application found at http://wyomingptsb.com/applications/).
