Texas State Education Licensing Requirements:
If you hold a standard certificate issued by another state or US territory and are seeking certification in TX you must apply for a review of credentials. Create an online account at https://secure.sbec.state.tx.us/SBECOnline/login.asp to complete an application and pay the $164 non- refundable fee. You must also submit official transcripts and copies of all certificates.
If you are not yet certified, you will need to complete your bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, complete an approved educator preparation program, pass the appropriate teacher certification exams, submit a state application after all requirements are met, and complete fingerprinting as part of a nation background check.
