Arizona State Education Licensing Requirements:

The Arizona Department of Education accepts credits and degrees from accredited institutions and therefore will accept credits and degrees from Slippery Rock

University.

The teaching intern certificate allows the holder to enter into a teaching contract while completing the requirements for an AZ provisional teaching certificate. See https://cms.azed.gov/home/GetDocumentFile?id=57a606fbaadebe02a4f4f3d6for details.

 

If you hold a valid PA teaching certificate and were required to pass PA’s certification exams in order to be certified in PA, the Certification Unit may issue a comparable standard AZ teaching certificate. You will need to obtain a valid IVP fingerprint card. Call 602.223.2279. This may take 8-10 weeks to receive. The fee will be $67 plus $7.95 for electronic application.

The Arkansas Professional Pathway to Educator Licensure (APPEL) is an alternative route to teacher licensure administered by the Arkansas Department of Education. Enrollment in this program allows a candidate with a bachelor’s degree or higher and who has passed the state mandated assessments to be employed as a classroom teacher while completing the necessary requirements for a Standard Arkansas Teaching License. Arkansas recognizes a teaching license from another state based on the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) licensure rules and/or the National Association of State Directors of teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement for Educator Licensure.
